The Community Safety and Communications Center was created on June 1, 2021. CSCC includes the Seattle 911 Center which was formerly part of the Seattle Police Department.

The Seattle 911 Center is the primary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for 911 emergency calls placed within the city of Seattle. Calls requiring a fire or medical response are immediately transferred to the Seattle Fire Alarm Center. The Seattle 911 Center handles approximately 900,000 calls per year and is staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Due to severe staffing shortages in CSCC, the non-emergency line (206) 625-5011 may not always be answered. CSCC always prioritizes answering 911 calls.  Learn more about how and when to report non-emergency calls.
