Crime Victim Assistance

The Criminal Division of the Seattle City Attorney's Office provides assistance and guidance for victims and witnesses as they navigate the criminal justice process. Prosecutor support staff - including paralegals, assistant paralegals, paralegal interns, and volunteers - initiate contact as necessary to a victim or witness regarding a given incident. In the matter of a crime involving domestic violence, a victim's advocate is assigned for the victim and they communicate with the victim.

Anyone contacting a victim or witness is obligated to clearly identify which agency they represent.
