High Point Juneau Community Garden and Market Garden
Gardeners living in the High Point neighborhood grow and harvest fresh produce in the P-Patch that they market every summer at the High Point Farm Stand. It does not get any fresher or more local!

Seattle Market Gardens is a program developed with the community by the City of Seattle P-Patch Community Gardening Program in collaboration with the Seattle Housing Authority and GROW (formerly the P-Patch Trust).

Garden History
Mr. Hien Nguyen was a colonel in the South Vietnamese Army during the American [Vietnam] War. In the garden, Mr. Hien is a natural leader. He always gets the names and numbers of community members who happen to come by the garden and are interested in securing a garden plot. He reprimands youth that charge through the gardens. He helps gardeners with less free time by watering their plots. Mr. Hien was one of the main community organizers and garden construction volunteers when the garden was built. He is part of the High Point Garden Advisors and is a member of the High Point Market Garden.

The development of the Juneau community garden added 23 new plots to the High Point community and was the impetus for the development of the High Point Market Garden. Chinese mustard and garlic are the favorite plants in this garden. Most of the gardeners are from Vietnam or Cambodia.
