Hing Hay Park Renovation

Updated: February 3, 2025

Early 2025

Given the time elapsed between prior in-house design review cycles and resuming project revisions in 2023, the design consultant achieved the design development stage in February 2024, and the design package was shared with the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda) for Phase I work.

SCIDpda is providing space inside the Bush Hotel for a public restroom and concierge station. Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is moving forward with the planning and design of the project, which includes renovating existing interior and exterior space in the Bush Hotel. The SPR facility will be located in the northeast area of the park in the basement of the Bush Hotel.

The project has two construction phases. Phase I is managed by SCIDpda to renovate the space to become “Tenant-ready”. Phase II is managed by SPR to implement the rest of the “tenant improvement” work. The SPR standard restroom will be open to the public when a concierge is present at the park.
