Ward Springs Play Area Renovation

This project is currently in the design phase with construction planned to start in the first half of 2025.

We're excited to share the preferred play area design for Ward Springs Play Area. Thank you to everyone who attended our engagement events and provided their input to help shape the final design. Budget

Seattle Parks District Major Maintenance provides $430,000 for planning, design, construction.

Project Description

This project will replace the existing play equipment with new equipment that meets current safety and accessibility standards. All improvements will be compliant with the standards from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). 
 
During construction, the contractor will need to close the play area portion of the park. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impact to the neighborhood. Thank you for your understanding as we all work towards a new play area for children of all ages and abilities!
