In early 2024 Seattle Parks and Recreation completed the Off-Leash Area (OLA) Expansion Study which identified multiple suitable sites for future OLA development. Sites at West Seattle Stadium and Othello Playground were funded for development and are now underway.

The new Off Leash Area development at West Seattle Stadium will turn the current unpaved overflow parking lot into an OLA featuring fenced area for unleashed dogs, seating, and a planted stormwater bioretention area.

Budget

The Seattle Park District provides $3,103,000 for the planning, design, and construction of two OLAs, one at West Seattle Stadium and one at Othello Playground (4351 S Othello St.)
