Water Plans
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) participates in and develops a number of plans for meeting current and future water demands, maintaining the water system, and meeting drinking water quality regulations.

These plans provide direction for current and future management and operation of the water system that serves Seattle and a number of nearby cities and water districts. Each plan must be compatible and consistent with local and regional land use plans, and meet the capital facility planning requirements of the Growth Management Act. The Seattle City Council approves an ordinance to adopt each plan.
