Environmental Justice and Service Equity

SPU partners with City departments to realize the goals for the City’s Race and Social Justice Initiative. Our goal is to deliver inclusive and equitable services to the communities we serve and to also model those values as part of our employee work culture.

SPU equity advisors throughout the utility help support and advance foundational elements of SPU’s race and social justice work including, but not limited to, the following:

Women and Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE)
See how we lead equitable practices for contracting across the Utility through the WMBE Program, which strengthens economic opportunity for the consultant community.
Community Connections
Learn about the Community Connections program to see how we strengthen the relationship between the Utility and communities of color.
